Three years after our first trip to Goa we returned, this time for a month instead of a week. Just like last time, we visited my boyfriend’s mum who was spending the winter in Goa. Our base was in Arambol but we also took a weekend trip to Palolem in the south, where we stayed last time. Palolem is my favourite Goan beach without a doubt. It’s very laid back and although it’s popular, it doesn’t feel that touristic.
We had a great trip overall, but the high temperature and some sickness made day-trips harder so we didn’t travel as much as we had planned. The food is made to suit the tourists, by offering Continental, Chinese, Israeli, Italian and Japanese, but the Indian food still tastes great. Some things to try while you’re there: Paneer Butter Masala, Palak Paneer, Aloo Paratha, Samosas, Veg Thali and Tandoori dishes.
I got a new camera a few weeks before our trip, a Fujifilm X-T1, which is a mirrorless camera and it’s both smaller and lighter than my old Canon 600D. I had a great time taking pictures with the X-T1, the images are very sharp and it’s easy to use. I can highly recommend it as a travel camera.
