When my friend told us she was getting married and was looking for a wedding photographer, I suggested myself for two reasons. 1 – I would have brought my camera and try to act as the photographer anyway. 2 – I had never actually shot a wedding and since she’s seen my photos before it was the perfect opportunity.
The day before the wedding, I went with the wedding party to check out the church and scout for locations for the portraits. The wedding was taking place in Värmland, the part of Sweden where I grew up, and the church was surrounded by farmland and forest. Just before we arrived, I spotted a big yellow crop field and immediately thought “we have to take the pictures there!”.
The bride and groom agreed so we decided on that field and a beautiful tree alley nearby. What I didn’t know then was the whole wedding party was driving an old VW bus, which fit the pictures perfectly! I’m so happy how the portraits came out.
In part 2, I’ll show the photos from the party.
